Only managed 1 lap on Friday and 1 yesterday. To wet today so haven't been on. Hoping to do another 2 laps tomorrow and a round on the gp circuit tomorrow.

Also went to karting which was pretty good. Quite a lot of uk ep3's at the ring.

I did 55 in the end. The Nordschleife isn't very hard on tyres. I passed you on the way to Adenau but didn't have a chance to say hello.

i was there in my red ep3 C5XYS on the plate.
was really impressed with it.
weather was shite though.
it was so slippy on the track just spinning up an no grip round the bends.

This is why it takes so long to learn the Nordschleife, especially in the wet. Places like Hatzenbach become an ice rink, Pflantzgarten the same and corners like Bergwerk and Eiskurve are the last to dry. Then throw in the different surfaces; new tarmac/old tarmac etc. Wippermann claimed a few in the wet that weekend and it's often the change in tarmac. Also, there's a wet line which is less slippery and gives you more grip round the corners, it wasn't until I had some tuition I noticed this grip in the wet.

a cracking weekend though, i'm back there in two weeks then got a nice long weekend in May too,

A guy i know had a huge off last week and rolled his car 8 times, walked away with a grazed arm but i think the car is dead, roll cage saved his life.

my mates 106 was epic round there last weekend, sat on the ass of a GTR for half a lap.

He was very lucky indeed! I know him too and it wasn't pleasant hearing he had such a huge accident. I didn't get a chance to see him after it happened as I had to get to the airport but a few mates did and said he was surprisingly ok physically. He's meant to back out next weekend, hopefully he makes it to have a quick catch up but he has sold his place on the trackday.

yeah my brother spoke to Michaela on the phone on friday and she said she had chatted with him and he was all ok.

Got to admit i was so tempted to do that day on the 19th. My mate is though so look out for a red GT2 porsche, she's pushing out 600bhp now, he'll be taking it pretty seriously as he has his first VLN race in June so will be getting in practice, in fact he may be using the race car which is an E36 M3.

I'll keep an eye on my mirrors and keep out his way then, my DC2 will probably one of the slowest cars on the day judging by the attendee list.

that does'nt matter at all. Car power means nothing there, experience is everything!!!

Last year i used my mates Hired Focus Tdci 1.6 ( i think 105 bhp) and we went out 5 up for a laugh and i still managed to overtake 6 odd cars, you just have to use the lines properly and carry your speed more.

yeah about how slippy its was because we had a dry day all the rubber was down then it pissed down and made it like a death trap.

on the sunday there was more sand on the track than at the beach a tad dangerous..

would of liked a lap in the teg.

You can forget being the slowest car on the day Mark...... We all know how well the DC2 handles compared with the FN2 i'm taking!!!!!

Looking at the list of cars i'm seriously considering extra mirrors! LOL

How standard is your FN2 Chris?

I'm not a fan of the GP circuit, it's a power circuit with heavy braking zones. I let my mate take my DC2 around at the weekend and I just took photographs. It'll be handy to warm the car up and cool it down before going on the Nordschleife though.

Relatively standard'ish.......

Stoptech Brakes, Eibach suspension, Milltek system, Yokohama Advan AD08 tyres

But as we all know it's all about experience at the Ring and i've not been since 2004 - You on the other hand did 50 laps over Easter!!!!

Never driven the GP circuit and can't really say i'm looking forward to that part of the lap as it's not the main attraction!
