Would make sense given the expected life cycle, didn't they bring 1080p gaming to the market first?

And yet the majority of PS3 games are not 1080p as it cant handle it at a consistent frame rate. Would also be looking at a box costing about £1000+ to game at that resolution.

Thats true for 3d maybe it will be capable for 4k blu rays. Not sure about the cost though I'm pretty sure you can get close to that on a PC gfx card for less than £100 not that most people would have a screen that can do that res though.

Ok just over £100

All online, downloaded gaming, straight from the publisher for full stupid asking price, then forced DLC, then every year, said game gets deleted and you have to buy the new one. No more second hand. No more cheap pre-order deals. No more game swapping between friends. No more original titles (just CoD and Fifa). That's my prediction.

I'm guessing it will be quite heavily cloud based for content. They could still have a second hand market and take a cut o fthe selling price or charge a fee for usage, that way they will still be getting some income from it.

VGA - 2048x1536
DVI - 2560x1600
DisplayPort - 4096x2160 <----
HDMI - 4096x2160 <----

Was just an example of what you can get for your moneis these days really this thing can run 4 screens via displayport, you could game with it but with just 1gb ram the textures would be pretty pants.

Those are just the maximum resolutions it supports, wont be able to do much gaming with it at those resolutions. Realistically its a 1080p card or 2560x1600 with lowered details.

Highly doubt that will happen in the EU given that a ruling has been passed saying Steam is not allowed to lock even digital games to your account, and that the user should be able to sell any game they have purchased.
Still waiting for Steam to change their EULA though
