my desire arrived last night, it's awesome.

charged it all night last night, used it since 7am downloading apps, playing games and apps, messing with settings and backgrounds, on the forum, all the stuff that eats the battery...

and it now has 9% battery life left.

so probably about 6 hours of heavy use and the battery is dead... on it's first charge.


can't work out whether that is good or not

Smartphones will all be like this, people moaned at the iPhone but its comparable to all modern smartphones.

Yup to be honest, its not as bad as I expected on battery life. You can already buy more powerful batteries though. :thumbup:

i think i'm quite pleased with the life of the battery thinking about it, as i've intentionally hammered it, so i would assume it would easily last a day or two if i just made a few calls, visited the forum for an hour or so and sent the odd text from it (when the honeymoon period has worn off and all that!)

it helps that the monitor infront of me has a usb port on the side of it though... work charging FTW!


not sure if anyone else has, but i've downloaded 'taskpanel' which can almost instantly kill all the unnecessary programs running (they re-open automatically when you go to use them) to help with the battery life apparently.

ps. someone asked earlier about the speed of the camera, if you put a little button for the camera on the homescreen, you can take a picture as fast as you can take the phone out of your pocket, swipe your finger across the screen, press the camera button, point and shoot (which equates to about 3-5 seconds max if you're holding the camera, or almost instantly if you have it set to the camera before you lock the screen)

for a phone, it's very, very fast.

i have to say, i've waited patiently for the right phone (my upgrade was over 6 months ago!) and i'm so glad i did, my contract beats the hell out of the one i was going to get with an iphone!

free phone, 600 minutez, unlimited textz, unlimited internetz... 20 quid a month.


but Stu... WHERE DO YOU BUY THE UPRATED BATTERIES????

as i wouldn't mind a wallet battery and a car battery... you know, just in-case!

Dont Orange do unlimited data like O2?

O2 don't do unlimited, its maximum 1GB.

O2 is unlimited personal use, nothing about 1GB in its T's and C's, just has an excessive use clause saying you cant use P2P and a few other things.

This phone looks amazing! but i'm in engineering and always veered away from touch screens because my hands are generally filthy. thats and i just never really like using touch screens lol so this or the bold 9700 i'm torn!

Has anyone suffered from struggling too see the amoled screen?

quite the opposite tbh, it has a little sensor which adjusts the brightness automatically depending on how bright it is where you are.

O2 won't have them in for another possible fortnight :bad-words: having problems getting it to sync with teh network, however the guy is going to let me know when there in, and I might be able to get some extras as I work in the same shopping centre :WOOT
