I've currently got an N4 on giffgaff but will be getting the N5 on O2 at the weekend. I need tethering and O2 is the only network I can get signal on at work.

What I mean is if you have say 5Gb data on your tarif, surely you can use it how you like up to that amount?

1GB tariff allows tethering, unlimited data tariff doesn't.

The only sim only plan I'm aware of that allows unlimited tethering is 3. But with their building penetration being shite I only get around 0.3mbs at work

You can tether on Giffgaff and it's the same network?

It's ran by Telefonica who run O2 in the UK, so it kind of is almost O2

By the way, I believe the app PDANet which lets you tether, masks your tethered device so networks cant see what it is

I downloaded that last week. Tethered a few hundred mb no probs. Brilliant I thought. The next time I used it I got 30mb in and they cut me off and sent me a text telling me I'd be naughty.

Don't know if it's hit & miss or if GG figured me out. Either way I need a more reliable service tbh

Made the jump from the N4 to N5 this week. Shouldn't feel like such a massive jump between the devices, but it does. The N4 was no slouch, but the 5 is very good.

Also, I urge people to try the Action Launcher. Very slick
