My carbon Tegiwa m intake on the scuttle panel is showing signs of oxidation and just wondered if anyone had refurbed or sanded one down? Any help would be appreciated

My Tegiwa scuttle is totally messed up with oxidation, lasted just under a year looking decent, must be crappy lacquer on them originally

I did mine in the summer, all I did was remove it from the car, sand down with some 320 grade paper until all the gloss had been taken off it ( and blemishes ) And apply 3 coats of laquer as evenly as possible giving them about an hour between each coat you can even sand between coats to remove and imperfections but I didnt. REMEMBER dont take the sanding too far or you will go through the laquer to the carbon weave. If your not very confident you can use a finer grade of paper it will take longer but will be safer. Just take your time :bigthumb:

Thanks for that Oliie , will have ago when i've finished the list of other jobs still to be done. Any particular laquer choice?
