The other night I was driving down local dual carriageway and suddenly it was all white

Managed to get civic to edge of the road but near side wheels got covered in emulsion paint

Nearest jetwash was 10 miles away so by time I got there paint was in my arches and all down the side

That was after an initial jetwash

Used some TFR and works jetwash today and cleaned the arches pretty much

But it's left the near side and the rear peppered in white dots

Need advice on what to use to sort it out

I have some Autosmart Tardis Tar and Glue on order, as well as owning a Kestrel DAS6 Pro DA with megs pads polishes and ultimate compound, Bilt Hamber Medium Clay, and a variety of polishes and cleansers

Anyone know a way of sorting it?

Do I have the stuff to sort if myself, or will I be needing a body shop?

I had a similar situation and just used the polish I already had (megs 3 step stuff) and it came straight off. Not sure on type of paint it was tbh and wasnt widespread. It took months for it to come out of the tyre tread on its own cause

Used my finger nails quite abit to chip bits off too

+1. Get some decent clay and use that. Magic Detail or bornlucky1 may be able to offer advice.

Edit. See above me

Cheers all

got home from work, and as if by magic it had paused raining

Dried a test area and had a quick pass with my clay bar

Came off without any real effort :-D

Gave it another spray with detail spray to temporary re-seal it

Saturday it will have a full clay, machine polish, sealant, and wax

Cheers all :bigthumb:

Yeah I was quite relieved when I felt the claybar passing over taking the paint dots off cleanly

Makes me glad I try to get at least one coat of wax on a month!

Okay so thought i may give this an update

I spent majority of the weekend getting the paint off, turns out it was masonry paint good for 15years out doors

It was a royal pain in the ass to remove

Started by removing the sideskirt to get better access

Image

Image

Front was 4mm thick

Few hours with white spirits and my nail I got it all off, wasn't a fun few hours

I then washed and clayed the civic

That was after half of the roof, would appear the cars never been clayed before!

Once clay'd it was rewashed, Glazed with Poorboys White Diamond, then Waxed with Chemical Guys Triple X Paste Wax

End result is the paint work feels amazing, and after a few days of rainy weather its still immaculate
