Asda Smartprice oil...
Erm, I am not a brand snob by any stretch of the imagination but I wouldnt put that anywhere near my car.
Go to Halfords or nearest auto factors and spend a fiver on a litre of the correct grade oil for your car.
5 30 or 5 40 synthetic

Yeah probably is to be honest, it will be by one of the major refineries like Asda don't actually have their own baked bean factory.
You have a performance car now, look after it with the stuff it deserves and it will run for years. A litre of something of the correct grade will get your VTEC fixed
