Finally had it. I've had a MAC course 2 weeks ago but felt more could be learnt. Don't get me wrong as I enjoyed the day but by 2pm I was getting little bored.

Met at the Honda HQ next to the Jct5 M4. We drove into Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and back totalling 130 miles. Learnt about reading corners, getting the right speed and gearing prior to entering the corner (slow in...fast out) and accelerating out. All good fun! but that seems to be all...

How about you guys who've been on the course? What did you get out it this?

Mine lasted from 09:00 till 16:00 and I enjoyed every minute of mine. I was knackered at the end of it, but definately not bored. Who was your instructor?

I still put the techniques into practise, 2 years on, and have developed further by reading the Road Craft Book as advised.

I would do this again even if I had to pay for it.

what kinda of things did you learn?

Vanishing points on corners and when to apply the throttle.
Car balance before corner entry and exiting the corner using the throttle.
Braking points, less use of the brakes by planning the corner.
Observations through corners, through hedgerows/tress etc.
Good overtaking techniques.
Reading the lay of the road.


I use to think I was a competent and safe driver before the MAC course, but my driving style changed since doing the course

I take part in track days too, so this helps develop car control, learning the limits of the car and how far to push.

Yes mate. I got mine from Amazon, but I believe WH Smiths stock the book so you can always take a quick preview before you buy.
