I hoped somebody here who had same problem knows what syncro and parts do I have to order.
2nd syncro or 5-6th?

djtopa wrote:That is not good thing to hearMy gearbox is a pig when cold and a beauty when warm - this means it is made to good tolerances which only set properly when the box has warmed, the oil has thinned and the internals have expanded etc.
I'll talk to some mechanics.
Exept syncros what other parts in gearbox can be bad?
THNX man for your replyes.

Cheers

econetcarrier wrote:Ahh glad to hear it, you are lucky then, usually i have problems with 1st and 2nd and sometimes reverse. I've learnt to drive very gingerly when the car is cold by short shifting to 2nd and working the box too by going back to centre and then to 2nd, it all helps to avoid embarrasing crunches. Car was into the dealer about 6 times about this, they didnt replace the gearbox though..FireBIade2 wrote:It's a new gearbox so of course it fixed the problemeconetcarrier wrote:That's true I had my gearbox replaced by Honda due to damaged synhros (2nd, 5th and 6th) and even they said a new one would cost less than repairing the old one. My problem wasn't just a stiff or notchy gearbox - i couldn't select 2nd gear.

My car may need this so called 'Fix' As its a tad notchy when cold from 1st to 2nd,
Fine when warmed a little,.
So if I ring around a few dealers that are SURELY aware of the bulletin, They will most probably book me in, And maybe do the 'Fix'.. Then charge me what? FOC Recall style? OR £500?
Thanks for any advice in advance. Chrissy
