I have just replaced the head gasket, timing chain, guides tensioner etc along with rebuilding all the calipers with new seals and pistons. When I tried to move the brake fluid reservoir it cracked and was leaking so I replaced.

When I had finished all the work I took it out for a quick test drive but forgot to top the fluid up. The ABS and handbrake light are now permanently on even with the fluid topped up, 2 different level sensors tried and 2 reservoirs. What else could cause this? A wiring issue? Or does it somehow need resetting? There are no faults on the code reader

It should have stored a code for low fluid level and will most probably need to be cleared before the lights will go out. What code reader are you using?
