Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone's got an advice for me please?

My 2005 EP3 is occasionally not starting and I think it's because the battery has been in and out of the car too many times and it's caused the negative battery terminal clip to be "loose", the nut is tightened to it's maximum yet the hole has slack around the battery terminal. When it's messed around with I can then get the car started. When it's loose i'm getting nothing at all not even the clicking noise.

try to press on the connector to stay all the way to the bottom when tighten the nut, the shape of the terminal is not just a simple cylinder form.
if the connector is bad try to mount a new one.

Get a new earth strap. Can’t imagine it’ll be that expensive as it’s only small.

Undo the nut pull the clamp off and use a pair of pliers in the middle to squash it slightly, then tap back on to the battery and tighten.
