Im having a few probs atm, they sound similar to the tps problem you had. was it the sensor that was at fault in the end or the wiring? Mines hesitating at around 7k rpm, almost like it's hitting the limiter but isn't. A couple of weeks ago it wouldn't run at all and was doing the same thing as yours, reving to 2k then dying.
