Its a Japspeed header, a complete replica of the DC :)

And yea i've put on and taken off the manifold 4 times now :) (for MOT purposes)

Its really quite easy, i would recommend using some ramps (the ones you drive onto) as there was slightly more clearance to get the manifold out compared to a jack

Also, i spend 2 hours trying to loosen (and rounding off) bolts with 12-point hex sockets, after buying a 6-point socket, it came off in 30 seconds! Really shows my mechanical knowledge :) so use 6-point sockets!

Also, as i took my manifold + cat off in 1 piece, I undid loosened the front arb so it could swing freely. This allowed me to maneuver the manifold down and past the back of the engine. I honestly couldn't see a way of doing it without undoing the arb.

Good luck, first attempt took 4 hours, second attempt took 2 hours, third and 4th took just under an hour :P

Car made a healthy 213 bhp :) was an amazing experience, and Romain was a legend..explained really well where it was restrictive and the power/torque it was making.

The car is like an animal now, completely different feeling to it! The midrange power it has now is incredible!

Will post graphs up once i have overlaid them

Just after her base run:

The graph:

Spec list:
K100
Japspeed 4-2-1
Silenced r8byb bpipe
Magnex oval backbox
ITG induction kit

Im really impressed with the mid range power, and disappointed at the same time at the peak power, first thing on my new shopping list is a teg M!!

Any recommendations of what to do next?

I was told that the itg is really restricting peak power, the japspeed manifold is slightly more restrictive compared to a DC, and the mix and mash exhaust setup is a little restricting. Not really sure where to go with this now..

Im happy with the noise levels at the moment, but could be that little bit louder. I have had an unsilenced bpipe with the magnex but it is just that little bit too loud. So a point in the right direction would be awesome :)

hmm yea me too, but looking back over the K100 group buy thread and i seem to be making the same power as some of the other guys with similar mods.

Also if you look at the graph, the curve at peak power is just diving straight down!! This is down to the ITG making mid range power rather than peak, so am on the hunt for a tegiwa m.

Even though the peak bhp isn't as high as others, mid range it made over 45bhp difference compared to standard and you can definitely feel it!

My only concern is ive heard the dc exhaust is quite loud.. i have read that some people have used a bung, so might consider the dc..
If your worried about noise make sure you get bung ...I have it with mine and it's really quiet with it in

Maybe it the rbc manifold that make the difference up to 240ish
Can't see a different induction making it up to that much power?!?
Yea agreed, I think i will be looking to getting a dc exhaust, tegiwa m and an rbc before the next map :)

it all depends where i want the power, the itg is amazing at mid range torque, but up in vtec where the peak power is really made, it is sh-t :)

nomally when you see 240-250 dyno results they are done at tdi north which has a rather "happy" dyno when it comes to result.
as for getting more out of it, change the filter for the aem cai if on a budget and rbc inlet manifold [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

cheers for the advice :D

it is a new k100, but through the group buy not too long ago which included supply, fitment and mapping sesh

Although the aem cai is a good alternative, i have wanted the tegiwa m for a long time, and i know if i dont get it, i will always be regretting not getting it.

And yea i have heard tdi have happy rollers compared to eurospec, which is why many think tdi are the 'better' mappers

im not doubting pauls mapping abilitly, i had mine mapped there, but yes i agree, better figures make it look like better mapping, i went from aem cai to gruppe m, and im afraid to say i was disapointed, it didnt sound as good or as loud, and the aem is ment to perform better, although the gruppe m does look better in the engine bay

Ash4Lotte wrote:really :O i thought that the gruppe m was meant to be the mother of all kits?

also does the aem not suffer from heat soak? or is it the one that stretches down to the bumper?
yeh the aem cai sits in the bumper, the aem v2 suffers with heatsoak, thats my opinion of the gruppe m of course, but i have seen alot of people say the same, i sold my gruppe m and went back the my aem cai and loved it
