Car is nearly ready for its next outing @ Oulton at the end of the month

Another expensive trip to ABP but had the following fitted:
Progress 24mm RARB & Tie bar
Skunk2 LCA's
Meister R Zeta coilovers
Another FRSU with more -ve rear camber
Ferodo DS2500 front pads
Goodridge braided hoses
AP racing 5.1 fluid
Hubs & rear arm painted hammerite sliver
Calipers painted black

Got bump steer pretty bad at the moment and the NSR tyre is scrapping on the inner arch.. was going to roll the arches but its only rubbing on around 1mm of lip so going to file the inner arch then underseal and touch up.

Booked in at Eightspeed in a couple of weeks to have buddyclub roll centre adjusters fitted.

Car had a machine polish last week before Trax

Looks great Danny, you certainly know how to make a nice car, I remember your VTS from zsoc :salut:.

I went in Chris Patten's DC5 when he had Meister R's fitted and the bump steer was awful along with the other issues. I think someone on here had Jerrick swap the straight arms for oem shape arms and that improved it. Might be something to look into?

hovblackctr wrote:Looks really nice mate! :salut:

I would say it does look lower than 25mm as well.
Cheers mate :)

Yeah thats what I thought, as doesnt look a great deal higher than it was before.. Oh well no more steer creak and doesnt catch on speedbumps (which were installed at the end of my street the day the coilovers went on... :bad-words: )

Ah cheers fella, what was your username on there? Yeah the VTS wasnt bad, do miss that car but out of all of them the MR2 was the only car i'd car back and buy another of.. VTS vs CTR was always a laugh though

Bump steer should be corrected with the roll centre adjusters, spoke to Jerrick and he was saying they only need to be fitted if the car is lowered more than 30mm... Straight arm design is one of the main reasons why I went for the coilovers - saves my steering rack!

If it doesnt work then i'll let Jerrick know, but Chris was buggered as he fitted them himself IIRC? He messaged after I bought them!

Alex88 was my username. Think I talked about about selling my gt-four chargecooler to you

Yeah, seems a bit silly though, the guy that snapped the bolt has the strength of a 4 year old girl . Hopefully the RCA's will sort your problem. :bigthumb:

Oh yes I remember! Yeah you had a GT4, have you got a CTR now then? You had a nice Imp blue ZS if I remember correctly?

Yeah that's me =). Bought the EP3 last year when I got fed up of the Celica and it's issues. Kept it pretty standard until now but loitering of build threads on here is dangerous . Are you just concentrating on handling mods for the time being?

Ah thought so! Was a few years ago now the ZSOC days, good times though! Yeah these build threads are dangerous.. I was adamant it was staying standard until I saw them lowered with the ABP setup, then it kinda spiralled out of control...

Saving for a house at the moment so means I cant spend as much as id like, especially as I need new tyres for the end of this month! :S Just handling, goes well as they are and been there and done that with engine mods, as you know

T180985 wrote:pics are looking good mate  looks like you could do with a bit more camber :bigthumb:

Cheers buddy! Yeh could do with a bit more but dont want to be ruining the tyres within 1k lol!

Car went to Oulton Park again on Tuesday with a few members from here, good to meet some new people and was in awe of Brens civic for most of the day

Stevie @ Eightspeed managed get me sorted with Buddyclub RCA's and another FRSU after raising the rear 10mm instead of butchering my arches. -1.3 camber rear and -1.5 up front.

Went really well round track and was much more stable at higher speeds compared to when I went in July. Wasnt impressed at the end, my fuel light came on as soon as we left the circuit! :( lol!

Servicing the car on Monday, oil, oil filter, scrub down the DS2500s and fit my new wheels (OEM wheels/Potenzas) and a HID kit I picked up from Eightspeed. Gutted I burnt the hammerite on my freshly painted hubs! lol.

Ive promised the missus I wont be spending anymore on it until next year, then I'll get a LSD

Cheers fellas :D

Haha no worries Jameshop, I remember yours for sale, with the white torques - does look good! Bet they're a pig to keep clean compared to bronze?! :P

They're unbelievable... These ferodos give off so much dust aswel
Il regularly clean the wheels twice as often as I clean the rest of the car...
Worth it when they're clean though
How'd you rate the meisters over the ABP's?
I just got the springs now but can't help thinking they could be better

Bronze wheels hide the dust :P Do look nice when they're clean though..

I prefer them, car handles better feels much more planted/stable, but then they arent as comfortable as the springs. Depends what you're going to use the car for I guess
hovblackctr wrote:Awesome pics Dan!

Sorry i didn't get chance to take you out in mine, hopefully next time and i will try not to break it!
