Japanese Auto Extravaganza is happening again at Wicksteed Park, Northamptonshire on 10th, 11th and 12th September.
For those of you who've never been to JAE it's a large Jap car club event and is a great way to socialise and put faces to names from the forum.

There's more info here http://www.japcarclub.com/area.php?a=1

For details of how to get tickets and methods of payment click here

Advance ticket payment is now closed. You can still buy a ticket for JAE at the gate on the day and there are stand passes still available. £15 per car to join the CTRO stand.

I should be able to make it.

Just need to re-arrange on-call but that shouldn't be a problem

As for location, I have never been, so will leave that up to people who have been and have a better idea

Great! A fair bit of interest so far, plus some of you are returning after last year which is a good sign!

Remember you need to be driving a Jap car to get in the gates so anyone inbetween cars better buy something Japanese!!!
If you're in something else then you're more than welcome to come and join the fun but you'll need to park your non Jap car in one of the car parks. (JAE rules I'm afraid)

To anyone who's not been before it really is worth camping at least for one night, there's evening entertainment whether organised by JAE itself or just provided by a CTRO member. We're a friendly bunch generally (esp after a few drinks!) so don't feel worried about coming along.

I can vouch for that!

Put me and my Bro down at least Catz.

I wouldn't choose the plot next to the toilet/shower block if I were you

I actually found the plot last year very OK. Felt quite safe and cosy there under the trees :-D Wasn't actually THAT cramped. Obviously if we get more this year start thinking double plots.. but otherwise ?

I really liked our spot last year, it was quite homely ... well as homely as a field can be! :-D I know some folk weren't happy about tree sap on their car every morning but that didn't bother me, plus we had some shade from the sun. However ... tree sap and compulsive car cleaners just doesn't go!

I'm thinking Ebisu ... iirc it was nice and flat, away from the main route in but still close to the entertainment for those who want it. Just need to get away from the mini showground as the noise in the morning was not so good! I'm thinking 2 plots this year, how ambitious am I? Nah mainly to ensure there's some space because when folk turned up on the Sat it was a slight squeeze for cars.

Time for some newby questions :-D

Right obviously its a 3 day event, is it best to come down on the friday and make a proper weekend of it?
What generally happens there, ive had a crawl through the site but cant see anything major just IKO events and karting time trials. How is the good old food debate handled?

Aint got a clue about most of the stuff so any info would be a great help

Anyone contemplating this should definately go. Great weekend will be had by all.

I'll be there on the dark side.

BTW Cat, we've been informed by Fuggles that for 25-30 odd cars, camping and social area, you really need to book 3-4 20x20 blocks. Just something worth considering. Better to have too much space than not enough.
