there was a thread a while back about these and just so happened father christmas got me one. I had been watching the item on ebay to see if anyone had bought one and what the feedback would be like and my dad had clocked on and bought me one :-D

just fitted it in and im well chuffed, really good quality, and it match's the interior trim really well. Its fully adjustable and can be put upright so that it is out of the way!! it is the perfect height for your arm just to rest on and seperates you off from the passenger. Not much more i can say to be honest apart from if you were like me and use the civic in the motorways or long journeys then this is a definite must. I know there will be haters out there but try not to be too cinical about it until you have tried :-D

here is a direct link for the ebay seller

I like that mate. I had a 3 hour trip to Dalco Car Audio a month back and would of benefited with one. If i did similar enormous trips like that regulary i'd probably go for one but fair play

no confusion at all. Virtually all sports cars have centre consoles, so why not have one in a civic. The older ek9 model had a centre armrest in the type r so i don't see what the big problem is, well its there for people who are interested in it and people like me who use their car as an everyday car and make longer trips in it. As i said there will be cinical people out there who believe the type r should be their way or no way!! just because i drive a type r doesn't mean i want my arms to fall off after REGULAR trips to manchester a couple of times a week for me, and for anyone who doesn't know anything about cars i doubt they would be able to tell if it was an add on or not because the colour match is spot on

GTI, S2000, S3, M3 just to name but a few have arm rests

oh yes so does the latest type r. Performance cars can have an arm rest! just because you have a type r, does not mean you need to be driving like lewis round every bend! yeah as mentioned a very useful mod for those long distance journeys on motorway!

I mean if the EP3 had an arm rest as standard, I don't think people would say much, but just because this guy done something different (for the better) everyone LOLs at him

Looks like a good mod bud! does it get in the way of the handbrake? is their a compartment within arm rest for storage?#

was it easy to install? have to drill some holes??

I would do it only if i could remove it without leaving any marks, hole etc

it tilits up vertical to allow access, but i always have it down because you can use the handbrake anyway. yea there is a fur lined compartment to hold stuff in. easiest thing ever to install, i didn't even drill the pilot holes, just pushed the self tappers in. it will only leave 4 small holes that the normal person wouldn't notice anyway, i love it

Finally some with enough balls to buy and put one in there car  !! altho 70quid seems abit steep for an arm rest doesnt look to out of place either. my only gripe with is it restricts access to the back (needed when your kid drops her bottle on the floor) apart from that   to you mate

the only concern I have is the holes and more importantly do you think it would go with recaro seats?

Err no.
devil84 wrote:GTI, S2000, S3, M3 just to name but a few have arm rests
and...?

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
devil84 wrote:oh yes so does the latest type r.
Ahh yes you mean the luke warm hatch with a chilled glovebox.
devil84 wrote:yeah as mentioned a very useful mod for those long distance journeys on motorway!
I would argue that you bought the wrong car for long distance journeys on motorways. Try a diesel BMW 3 series instead.

I also LOL at people who fit lambo doors to Saxo's and stuff 2 metric tonnes of ICE in what was a performance hot hatch. People are free to modify their cars how they please, but I reserve the right to laugh at them.

The point you tried to make that an arm rest only belongs to a "BMW 3 Series Diesel 320 ES Trim"

Whereas my point was that an arm rest in a hot hatch.coupe ie FN2, R32, M3, S3 and dare I say it EP3 is not too far fetched.I and don't see any reason it should be "lol" at.

If you want to "LOL" at them on this forum thats fair enough. Just be aware that this will provoke a "response to thread" whenyour comments are a bit OTT.

Why don't you lol at someone who puts in KPRO and say "why did you just not get a faster and more powerful car ......"

Just appreciate that there mayhave been unique reasons/circumstances that led us to buy the EP3 rather than an "BMW 320D ES trim" or any other "comfort" car for that matter.

Of course you can express an opinion, I also reserve the right to express my opinion about your opinion! :salut:  Happy New Year
