refurb your own take about 20mins all you want is some 1500 wet n dry a 8mm threaded rod or a bolt and a drill, spin the gear nob in the drill using the threaded rod to hold it, apply the wet n dry with water to remove the scratches then either lacquer or better still autosol looks loads better and does not chip and scratch like lacquer

Ok - I was just trying to stand up for the chap really.......well hey - I was happy to pay £20, I just thought to put a thread on saying actually you can do this yourself was a little unfair when Brens is just offering a refurb service, maybe the DIY version should have been put in the How to section rather than this thread?

nothing against Bren just saying how easy it is also put a more detailed how to guide up

as for DIY bren will do it very similar maybe he has access to a lathe but drill does the same thing
