Just had the engine warning light pop up on the dash. Car is on 03 CTR so is quite old now. What is it likely to be? I have read emissions sensor in the exhaust, is that right? I do remember there being one there in or near the cat when I last looked under there. The exhaust is pretty rusty in that area too. I guess there must be something wrong down there. Any one know what the common thing will be if this warning lamp suddenly pops up? It comes on when the ignition is turned on, momentarily goes off then comes back on again even before the engine is started.

Thanks, yes good advice, I did just that. It was the knock sensor. Cleared the fault and all OK now. Might have been a dodgy tank of fuel. Hoping it doesn't come back.
