No, it's been explained countless times in this thread already - you need to buy a 3rd party Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser because the factory immobiliser will no longer work

Any of these will do fine

So no matter what ECU u get (the one with the immobiliser disabled OR enabled) You have to buy an aftermarket Thatcham Alarm System for your immobiliser to work?
I thought if you bought the immobiliser enabled ECU ( a few weeks wait from CPL ) then all you have to do is take the new ECU and keys to your Honda dealer, fit the ECU and then recode your keys to the ECU/Immobiliser?

Surely thats the difference between the the two types of ECU :?:

I recall talking to Lynn at CPL and i had the impression the standard fit immobiliser can be made to work :vconf:

Where does it say that?

When I phoned CPL and asked about the ECU they said they had it in stock, I then asked about the ECU with the immobiliser enabled and she said that would take a couple of weeks for them to get in.

Im positive thats what they said

I have the CPL Hondata for the FN2 WITH immobiliser. I ordered that because i have a Racing version without the factory alarm. The car didn't start after the ECU transplantation. The honda dealer programmed the ECU and then the started again with my keys.

That sounds like you have just reset the whole ECU to factory settings..... Well Done. Expensive reflash.

Hahaha.. no.... not flashing the ecu. Only programming the ecu and the immboliser like the Hondata manual explains.

I am very sure that ivtec points are not so low on the stock fn2's. Even on the lightweigthed R versions.

It's simple. The imobiliser doesn't recognize the ECU because it's a other serialno. The dealer puts the new serialno of the ECU in the immobiliser. No key programming etc etc.

But it's easy because Hondata has the manual online.

Link?

I'm pretty certain you're referring to EP3, not FN2

The EP3 and FN2 options are the same with the honda specialist..

At the order at cpl the question was if i wanted a ecu with or without immobiliser option on. I ordered with the immobiliser option on.

I know that... i have a Ep3 (hondata k-pro with imo), Fn2 (hondata cpl with imo) and EK9 (Mugen ECU).

But the immobiliser setup is the same.. It is logical that everything is different. The cpl ecu can be bought with imo on.

So if I buy the ECu with immobilizer on. what do I have to do to it for it to work correctly? like what would I have to say to my local honda garage? don't want them reseting it :vconf:

If the ECU from CPL has the immobiliser, then they would advertise the fact. But they have said that the immobiliser is not operational on the FN2, and the documentation that you get with the ECU, says the same. I would have thought that CPL would be the first to announce that they had overcome the issue with the immobiliser.
