Down A Bit, Down A Bit, That's It...

Hi everyone,

I have just had the suspension on the ep3 sorted. Went for 30mm eibach kit with front and rear camber arms/bolts. Also a new rear arb 24mm. Had a Frsu all setup on it and the car feels really tight and great.

I was seeing if anyone has had any implications or issues while having this sort of setup for me to look out for the future. I have heard about putting a little more stress on the steering rack, is this true?

Any thoughts or comments would be really helpful.

I and many others have had the same FRSU with no issues, although I had OEM ARB. I've heard about rack raiser which is supposedly to alleviate stress on the steering as you say, but i'm not convinced this is even necessary if you're only lowered 30mm. As I said, many many owners are lowered on eibachs with FRSU and so if there were any common issues arising from this, chances are i'd know about it. Not to say that suspension and other parts cannot wear or become faulty, but it may be completely unrelated to the addition of your suspension mods.

Anti roll bar drop links might have worked their way loose, I think they need to be checked again after 50 miles of driving to ensure their torqued up to spec.
Or if you have an exhaust system it may be that when you're turning, the weight transfer is lifting the roll bar up and just touching the exhaust.

I feel from a bit of reading and people's thoughts. It might be because that most of the suspension is new except for the bushes on the tie rods/drop links and arb on the front. Now I have made the car more stiff, its making everything work a little more. If I have the opportunity I will do a video of what the noise is.
