Who has fitted a heat shield to their CAI kits? Looking at the Tegiwa but not sure if it would be suitable. The cone on the typhoon is quite large so a aluminium bend it yourself and attach to the clamp may not be big enough.

It will make no difference. Just keep the typhoon as it, or otherwise upgrade the intake.

You could get creative with glass fibre matting and make a tegiwa sort of airbox.
