Just one thing, the ABP kit is made by Quikshift, they are the same kit.

To be honest, they are all just as bad as each other. They all suck in hot air

You will get a BHP increase with an open filter.

You often hear people say that cone filters suck in hot air from the engine bay, and this affects performance. But the gains far outweigh the losses. For example, on the CTR, the induction kit gives between 5 and 12 BHP gain, and when the temperature of the incoming air rises (only happens when stationary) you only lose about 2-3 BHP, but bear in mind the moment the car starts moving, the temperature drops to within a few degrees of the ambient air temperature.

This is a fact.

Taz, any ideas as to the gains in BHP from the Blitz kit?

Not had this one RR, but a couple of guys have had increases of about 5-10BHP.

Taz, out of interest you mention that what you said is 'fact'.

Can you show me factual evidence of your car that backs this up?

My earlier quote/paragraph is taken from Blitz own website on there filters;

http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/blitzfilt.htm

Now, i tend to look more favourably on info from companies such as these, because lets face it the guys at Blitz have been involved in this area for years and spent ££££'s on research etc.

So if you cannot believe them, who can you believe.

I know the example BHP's are from a Scooby, BUT the same principals still apply in regards to heat transfer and induction.

I'm not saying it's the best on the market, but for this type of system you cannot go wrong.

Are we still talking about the 'open' filters as opposed to yours?

I am tempted to believe Honda specialists such as Spoon and Mugen (Spoon dont even touch the Honda intake!), rather than Blitz who have far more research in turbocharged vehicles.

That quote relates to the original open filter (SS Gauze) as shown on that link. Turbo cars have no relevance, the filter is still there to do the same job, whether it be turbo or normally aspirated.

No relevance  :?:

I think you'll find that Honda intakes are vastly different to any turbochargde vehicle out there :!:

In fact Honda intakes are quite complicated and thus 'any old filter' simply does not work.

Well my original Evo airbox/filter were not that different, panel compared to a cylinder. Feed still comes in the same method.

If we stick to the filtration and induction aspect, there is no real difference is my point. The principle are identical.

At this point would like to say good to have an informed debate without it turning nasty. Even if it is over various threads, it's getting confusing.

Hello guys, My name is Mauro, i am from Portugal […]
