Please read as this contains MOST of the daily questions asked about the Gruppe M and relevant parts , all shoved into one thread .

All info taken from the forum and provided by owners of the system .

Any questions please feel free to ask in here and I'm sure people will answer .

It's so much easier than scattered Gruppe M threads everyday .. Stay on the site longer than a month and you will agree

FAQ

Where do i buy this mofo at the best price ?

Gruppe M can be purchased second hand in the for sale section , or here ...

http://civictype-r.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... 8&t=126243 EDIT ... Sorry the discount option is no more :bigcry:

Either way these go for around the £700 mark . They hold their value so don't expect any major deals

Is it worth the money ?

That's a matter of opinion , at the end of the day the OEM airbox works fine . If you can spring for an expensive induction kit then by all means do so . It has rave reviews and is proven to be one of the best kits for the EP3 . Obviously there are plenty of other systems to choose from so do your homework .

Is it difficult to fit ?

No , all parts are supplied with the kit to fit straight into your engine bay . Its a simple job and takes 30 min's tops . Most of that is figuring out how to build the Lower case and adaptor  . Few screws and the OEM box is out , assemble the Gruppe m , then bolt it all in .

( Other parts are recommended which I've listed further down * )

WARNING

Make sure your scoop clears your bonnet before slamming it down , some scoops STILL foul the bonnet and may need minimal shaving off the edges . It's a £50 mistake so be careful

So what else will i need ?? *

( None of the following is a MUST , these are just little mods which we've found make life easier )

First thing is to change the cowl top . the one provided with the kit is not up to scratch at all . It rattles , and looks nothing like the OEM cowl . You can either modify your own by following this guide ...

http://civictype-r.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... 12&t=72710

OR

You can save yourself a lot of hassle and buy one ready done straight off a forum user , here ...

http://civictype-r.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... 8&t=128299

Next thing would be to replace the existing cowl screws with either Camlocs which can be found here ...

http://civictype-r.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... 8&t=118688

Or you can find larger Cowl screws in Halfords , like so ...

Next thing would be the OEM breather hose . The Gruppe M does move about in your engine bay so the OEM pipe tends to split . Other pipes can be sought like so ....

With the scoop above the bonnet , will it flood ?

No , the Filter case has a drain hole in bottom of it which funnels any water out of the system before it gets into your engine . A brilliant diagram can be found here  ....

How do i clean it ?

The Gruppe M uses a KN filter so KN oil would be the stuff to use  . Open the Filter case to remove any leaves etc

Is it loud ?

Mostly in vtec , then it goes nuts

Not done yet , still gathering info ...

How do i stop it from shifting about ?

There's tons of fixes for this and it's all trial and error , here are some examples ...

Will Gruppe M fit with any strut brace ?

Obviously not as there's different designs . The GM is quite bulky so you'll have to do the measurements or search really hard for answers .

I will keep updating this part as soon as i find info

E-tech - yes

CUSCO - no

J's Racing - yes

DC - no

Spoon - no

Carbing - ( don't think so , I've searched every page containing Carbing and nobody has done it , that i can find )

Great Work Mate!
Just one little question I'm afraid, I have my GruppeM on its way but does anyone know of the rough figures for performance gains that it will produce? It will be fitted to a stock car with other mods to follow in the future. If anyone could give me a figure it would be much appreciated.

Long time ago I had and Ep3 for 220k kilometers in[…]
