AMAZING, kinda a nice low bass note up to 3000 then it becomes a bit more high pitched and louder. then when vtec kicks in at around 6000rpm it growls really loud, no words to describe it, except its so nice!!! sounds like a car from fast and the furious, jsut needs that buddy club zaust!!

Fitted it in 15mins this mornign! sister got it for me for xmas. :D Get my 30mm lowering springs next week too :D jsut need that zaust now!!

Damn, you're lucky you have a sister like that. My brother got me a big piece of ham. You read that right, a piece of ham! Smoked ham, from Spain. One of those whole legs all the bars in Spain have got. I have flip smoked ham till Easter, now!

Tell your sister that I said she's cool :D

Oh, btw, did you know that the HKS SPF sucks in hot air from the engine bay? :P (just jealous, no big deal once you're moving)

Later

Claudius ;)

Agree, does your make a *hiss* or *swish* noise when it hit's the VTEC at 5,500 - 6000 RPM? bit like a dump valve... because I like to lick cows udders and it's sh**ing me up  , nevermind scaring the grannies I'm scaring myself :? . Just hope it's normal and it's not something I've done incorrectly when installing it :?

mate as it switches cam lobe profiles it makes a growl then a f+f noise up to 8000 but yes it does but u can ahrdly hear it, its due to the other cam lobe taking in a lot more air, hence the sucking hiss noise. u know the noise u get when u jsutr blip the throttle.

I am assuming that your car is a new CTR.
If you go to HKS web site (http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=813#) you'll see that the
sugested part number for the CTR is the 70004-BH001 (the same that
the Acura RSX Type S uses, same engine) and not the 1504-sh021.
Who suggested this part number ? It does not exists at the web site.

Yu are right. The part number for CTR (EP3) is the 1504-SH021.
I've see it on the HKS japanese web site: http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/int ... _data.html

Thanks.
I think I will get the HKS instead of the AEM kit.

Just a bit curious,

If by accident water splashes up (i.e. big puddle) between the gap in the wheel-arch and gets on the airfilter, would this cause problems as the engine will be drawing in damp air?

Any answers or remarks are welcome.

Wondering?
if i drove thru a river and stalled but managed to get te motor out would this effect the filter as it would get a bit wet?

Sarcastic remark Neo? :?

I apologise if not, as the original airbox everything is enclosed/sealed and was wondering if it effected the new induction kit if water was splashed onto the sponge bit of the air-filter.

as long as the water doesn't enter combustion chambers or electronic parts like air flow mass meter etc.... it would be okay
