You have to wonder why Lotus didn't go with the K20 engine in the Mk2 Elise rather than the Toyota engine.

have started on a fairly major rebuild...

engine out....

charger sold to be replaced with a slightly larger one

along with...

and to cope with the extra power ive decided to fit the uprights and wishbones from an S2 elise K series car so i can run the bigger GM bearing packs...

have fitted the two pot calipers from the front to the back and retained the handbrake calipers...

rose jointed wishbone bushes...
