Aircraft do have callipers of sorts, usually multiple discs sandwiched together. Similar sort of stopping power to a CTR with DS2000 fast road pads and brake bar

They have pistions, that compress the stack together.

After working next to the Tornado Brake Bay for over two years, I am fully aware that aircraft have brakes.

I remember when the WTB Bay had an issue with the inflation of a Tornado tyre when it was in the cage, fecking thing exploded obliterated the cage, the noise was ridiculous, ears where left ringing for a while.
