To be honest, I've had it a couple of times when I first got the car. I haven't heard or noticed it for weeks now.

Jazz would be for a service. Our car has been back to the Swindon factory so hire car via Honda's partnership with Enterprise, although still don't agree you give back your 30k car and get a 10k one instead....oh well.

Guess what, the noise is still happening.....grr

Update : In the next fortnight the whole front end is being replaced!!! Honda Technical are coming to Blackpool Honda to do it. Interesting.

So I strongly suggest you all report it if you have the noise occur at any time.

Luckily I have not had this at all. But makes me slightly worried.

Hope you get it sorted soon

Outside temperature is dropping hard and I heard mine making that noise again on full lock. Haven't heard it for 6 months or so, now with lower temps it's doing it again.

Ever since Honda put a completely new front end on it we have had no problems. Although it is starting to get colder so lest see.

I get a "chunk" "chunk" noise when going from brief full lock when reversing then going forward. However, this is avoided if when reversing I straighten up at end before going forward. When doing three point turn this applies to both going backwards & forwards, i.e. straighten steering at end of each movement while car is still moving.
Nosie is probably from LSD.

Maybe, maybe not. When ours did it, the wheel actually moved out/in whilst turning around - kind of like it coming out of a socket. This was witnessed by the Honda dealership Sales manager and then by the Honda Technical team. I would get someone to check - the sales manager actually had his hand on the tyre whilst we slowly moved the car forward with it on full lock. If this is happening to yours then get it to the dealer as its faulty, like ours.

Convinced my noise is from tyres when cold. Took car to dealer 15 miles away & did several tight three point turns & no sound whatsoever as tyres now hot. When very cold my wife's CRV makes a hint of a similar noise when she reverses out on full lock then straightens up to drives off. As mentioned before if I reverse direction of turn just as coming to stop the noise does not occur.

It certainly isn't tyres - why would Honda send up some specialist engineers to evaluate and then replace the front end. When on full lock the clunk is certainly feel-able through the steering wheel. Plus, like I said earlier, you can see the alloy wheel move if you are stood outside.

My tyres clunk on full lock in frosty cold weather, usually 1st thing in the morning as I'm pulling out of my space, full lock right & as I'm steering left CLUNK.
It feels like you've half caught a large stone, common on low profiles in cold weather.

But if you're feeling it through the steering wheel then it's not your tyres :)

No feeling through steering wheel & wife says no movement of front wheel when noise occurs so probably just tyres on my car when coldish. At 5k miles the fronts are an even 4mm & rears at least an even 5mm so alignment OK. I also have Honda Manufactures Warranty for another three & half years as comfort. When noise first occurred I thought it was due to a stone or stones from our gravel drive getting stuck on tyres as previous post mentioned.

Wait until it warms up the clunking will stop,
Google low profiles in cold weather, you'll find posts of peoples tyres actually popping off the rim 1st thing in really cold weather, they say stick a bit more extra air in the cold mths

I had been running with pressures 2psi under recommended but when checking yesterday now colder weather I found pressures 3psi under. Increased to 0.5psi above (Michelin digital gauge) & getting chunk chunk noise not even on full lock when turning first thing & tyres cold, so will put pressures back down to 2 psi under recommended 33psi front & 30psi rear. When oem Continentals changed for Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/35 ZR19 93Y the higher load rating of 93 will allow lower pressures still.
