Ive seen 1.6 bar on mine but briefly its hard to look down at warp speed to check the boost gauge most of the time it regular reads 1.4 -1.1 all depends on gears and rev range its also worth noting that the build up of boost is back pressure that the engine cant use if you had a flowed head you would never see 1.6 due to the head being able to flow more air and less back pressure
the eventuri is nice but not £720 nice thats eye watering it say you gain 20bhp im not doubting them but id love to see real world rolling road results the most ive seen on a filter change is 3-5 bhp
i agree with dragonfall the design and looks of the eventuri does look like its less restrictive then the standard airbox so would allow it to suck faster but if you can use the boost why worried
would be interesting to 0-60 both car with and with out or some rolling road print out eventuri verse pipercross

cheers stu ..

Dream Automotive are having a Type R Dyno day on Saturday and my mate with the Eventuri is going.
Pop along if your local, and compare your car to his. He won't take any persuading to show you what it's like.

I will post up the Dyno results he gets.

Mine is boosting around 1.1/1.2 in the lower 2 gears. Around 1.3/1.4 in 3rd and 4th, I see peaks from 1.5 and very regarly 1.6 in the higher gears.

Stock car.

I've been doing a bit of thinking. The whole Eventuri showing a graph here where its showing stock airbox vs there intake design and the 18+hp gains and 20nm, in my mind this has nothing to do with the whole cold feed dire scoop, its just the more better an direct breathing filter to me, the inlet manifold its self and inlet pipe is OEM, and as dyno's can never really replicate cold air/ram air feeds the cold air feed little scoop I can't see making any inroads to affect a dyno read out properly. Could this be basically due to the fact that the standard airbox is very restrictive? When changing the air filter out yesterday I was just looking at it I think its terrible, I don't really understand how the engine even does get any decent air feed to the airbox in general either?

The OEM intake does look poor to the layman like me. I'm looking forward to see the difference on a Dyno with my own eyes on Saturday. I think my friend will be a little gutted if his car isn't running 325bhp+.

I believe it's Luton between 10 and 3pm.

If you look on Facebook at Dream Automotives page, all the info is there.

Loads of offers on there from carbon bonnets, led fog lights, Remus responder, Eventuri to interior/exterior carbon fibre trim galore.

Look for the oldest fattest person there, whom you think can't possibly own a Type R.

I will be with 2 other owners (chris and Tony) one with a white Type R with Eventuri scoop and a blue one.

See ya there ..... Nick :Woot:

Great to meet you Stu, nice part of FK2 ownership is meeting such nice as yourself.

Eventuri fitted in about 1/2 hour. Definitely not for the shy and retiring person!
When driving at low revs you get a little cone hammer and it's sounds like the burble of an Impreza.

Off to the Season Shutdown event at Skegness now.

140 mile round trip in convoy with another FK2 owner.

The Eventuri is quite noisy even under soft acceleration and I don't the whoosh/hiss noise at all.
It makes the cars sound grossly/burbly inside under very soft acceleration and after 2500rpm disappears and starts whooshing as the turbo spools up and starts sucking the air in.

Throttle response is really noticable and there no placebo effect there!
The car hits 1.5bar almost instantly and maintains it. Against a stock FK2 it's above 4000rpm where the difference shows and you start to make ground on them.

This is weird ..... water temps on my car were 3-4 degrees lower all the time. Oil temps were 5-6 degrees lower all the time. Cruise control runs over 20-30 miles showed the Eventuri 1-2mpg less than stock.

A few minutes after we got home Tony popped the bonnet on his car and the normal blast of hot came out.
Popped my bonnet and that didnt happen. The engine was obviously scalding hot!! We shut the bonnet and felt the Eventuri scoop and it was bloody hot. It was acting like a chimney and venting a stream of hot air out of the engine bay.

The actual figures we found are obviously slightly subjective.
Our conclusion with the Eventuri is that it's bloody expensive for a small gain.
The engine seems to run very slightly cooler and has better throttle response, and benefits at the high end of the rev range as you'd expect.
It acts as a bloody good engine vent when you park up.

thanks for the great write up and was great to meet you
ill stick with my pipercross at the mo the price for the eventuri is eye watering and compared that to a remap and filter change you would still have alot of change left but more BHP

Sorry just joined, were you guys referring to a boost drop problem that has occurred with a stock/untouched example of the car, bolt ins no map or a mapped car. Because it turned out the torque limited limp mode I was suffering on mine after decatting was resolved after a trip to dreams sister company evolve who mapped it off. I'm running the eventuri kit as well and am no longer facing any problems. With regards to varying maximum boost levels in different gears, is it safe to assume that the whole boosting mechanism works on a boost by gear basis because on severals runs it turned out to be a lower boost level on first and second and about 0.1 bar to 0.2 bar more thereafter.
