How to kill a Crab??

Wife's left an alive crab in the sink in a plastic bag and gone to work, it's moving every now and again and it's freaking me out!
I've had a look at the fella and it looks unhappy, whats the most humane way to kill it? In the freezer?

Run the hot water tap until its arms and legs fall off, then throw it like a skipping flat stone back into the sea, counting the skips for the lols

you know those daddy long legs (crane fly), i wonder what happens if you pull all of his legs off, can he still fly with no legs?
