I do, sometimes, get the sweet/savoury thing and bacon is sometimes quite adept at it. I really don't get the maple/pancake/sh-t bacon thing though

I used to put crispy bacon into my porridge as a kid it was nice to have the sweet and savory. Its the Maple syrup thats wrong.

You get pretty sweet maple cured bacon though. I just think that if I am going to have bacon, it's never going to be that crunchy American crap with syrup over a few nice dry cure rashers done just right on a lovely white barm/muffin/bap*

Nah, I don't like the American bacon. Prefer nice streaky 'green' stuff from the butchers.
