Best sounding car around 7k

What do you think?

I'm looking at getting a 350Z but the impracticality PLUS the harsh mpg is making me sway towards an R32 Golf as it's still at least somewhat practical (although the banter I'd get off my bro would be killer as he has one already)

What else sounds as good as these that you can get for around 6/7k?

(Burbly sounds - not a VTEC with a Tegiwa - although they do sound nice but only when screaming)

I knew the Imprezas would get a mention! You know when a Subaru is coming up the road - very distinctive sound.

Focus ST sound good too definitely. Can get them for 7k though?

E46 M3 also sound good, only bummer is insurance and when you go the Ring everyone's got one!

Which of the Alfas?

Circa £7k remember ladies :)

You would get a mint p1 for that mate, that's a car that will increase in value :)

OP, I take it you're the guy on R32OC, looking a swap with your pre-facelift?

I looked at two of those, if they had a lsd i'd maybe even have gone for one but running costs weren't much less than the M3 which swayed me to that which is a little bit better at everything.

O.P, i think the E46 m3 sounds great but the M3 rasp does divide opinion. Apart from the noise though it's a much better car in pretty much every way than any of your original choices. There's a reason why everyone at the 'ring chooses them :wink:Image

I also like leighs curve ball monaro 6ltr but to get one sub 7k it'd need to be miley or pre-repaired i think.

Pmsl, my best mates got one of those, they're crap at anything other than straight lines and rusting fast
Can be had stupidly cheap though for a car with 350hp!
