just had some toyos fitted but they put 205 40 17 on instead of 215 40 17

should i take em back and get em changed its their fault.they seem loads better than the standard tyres though.

You can leave them but the Toyo's that are the closest fitment i.e. rolling radius to the originals are the 215/40/17's.

If you asked for 215/40's then thats what you should get.

Take them back.

well i took em back and glad i did too

quite a bit more grip in 215 size.

the two things i didnt like about the ctr are gone 1. bouncing wheels on hard acceleration. 2. instability in hard braking from speed (felt like it was going spin a few times too

) both totaly gone wayyyy

Just so everyone knows, Top Gear now have the Federal 17" SS595 Tyres put up online so you no longer need to phone to order them

Just phoned to order 4 feds and was told they wont be in stock for at least 3-4 weeks. Guy said it was best to ring back in 4 weeks rather than order them now.

Oh well...no hurry for me

Got an email back from Smartcar.co.uk with some prices of there Federals and other tyres they recommended.

Current product listings:
1. 205/45 vr17 Federal tyres at £69.95 each.
215/40 17 tyres (each):
2. Toyo Proxes at £99.95.
3. Nankang at £79.95.
4. GoodYear Eagle FI GSD3 at £109.95.
If delivery required: Add £7.50 per 1/2 tyres. £12 per 3/4.

what about seeing if we can get a group buy from top gear for the northern lads who live near/ish?they might knock off some ££

I have been reading the posts regarding the Federal ss595's and after a cuple of sideways moments in the rain recently I have decided to get a set of 4.
topgear dothem, as you know, for £250 a set delivered. I can get them fitted for £8.00 a corner - total £282.00.

Decided to ring round and ATS will do them for £67.00 a corner fitted and balanced - total £268.00

Am having them on on Monday.

Will review in due course - can't be worse that BS's!!
