nankang racing tread depth

Just a quick one guys. What is the tread depth new on the nankang ns2r racing trackday tyres, are they 7-8mm like normal tyres or 5mm like federal rsr's etc?

Top reviews, real cheap for 16" and with 7.1mm tread there a no brainer

Measured mine at 7mm new.
Good tyres for the price, just a shame they escalate the poor steering feel of the EP3

Do they? Thought they had stiff sidewalls and 13% extra tread patch so would be more square on the edges..

They are very stiff sidewalls, but compared to RE050A's they do lack that slight bit of feel you get. Their also not quite as progressive when the back end let's go.
Just to add I'm running the 180 street compound, I know Rob @ Area recommends the softer 120 compound so that may work out better.
My own opinion of course. I would like to try these tyres on a DC5 with hydraulic PAS rather than electric of the EP3. Hopefully sometime in the new year

havent used the re050a before, been using re070's lately. Im not sure which compound to go for, be for fast road use more than track but want the grip on track too. Yeah seen the good reviews
at only 60ish quid a tyre for either i might aswell go 120 though.

I can't say how well the 120 wears on the road, but the 180 I have seems good and I've done around 2500 miles on them now.
I don't think you would notice any benefit from going 120 for road use, the 180's are very good on the road and I've yet to have them break loose.
