We charged the battery fully about a month ago (car sat unused for a couple of months) using a slow external charger of sorts (not sure what you call these)
There is a viewing window on top of the battery which gives the impression that it does not need charged

Lights, horn, windows + sunroof and radio all work.

Currently no access to any other batteries to rule it out for sure.

The stuborn father is under the impression the "battery is FINE!" but yeah - means nothing  (dont tell him that, please!)

Its pissing it down but when it stops I will get a reading off the battery, I believe the charger had a needle gauge of sorts on it.

the batt should be around 12v then when you try to start it it should drop ever so slightly, maybe 9 or 10v and go right up to 14 when it starts. if its dropping too low then your battery is goose and isnt holding charger under load. my money is on your battery!

After leaving it charing 6hours I took a nervous drive to get it replaced, they confirmed it was way past dead.

Thanks for the input.
