Saw one of these the other day... could tell a mile off, different bodykit on the Type-S.
Would look great with a trailer on... yeah...
But seriously, get those three salesmen in the car who laughed at you and take it for a spin. Once you are over 2000 RPM it will pull fine in any gear.

So, it's a lack of power at the right point in the RPM curve which is the issue - it is simply not pleasant to tow with .... unsuitable.

The torque curve on the Civic is actually pretty good even at the lower rpm's. The gearing is even altered to make use of the lower end torque. As an example the Focus duratec procuces 184Nm@4,500rpm and thats roughly the same as the CTR at that engine speed.

answer is simple - you shouldn't put one on because the car was not designed for it. But you can physically get one on there if you really want...

I must admit, the Type S is almost identical to the Type R now.

The Diesel 2.2 does drive fantastic - the Torque is huge and it shows in real world driving .... I'm going to stick my head out now, but I suspect it is faster in the speed ranges than the Type R (say, for the 30-50 MPH overtaking speed?).

It's nothing to do with 0-60 speeds, how often is that important while driving? Very rarely. But overtaking speeds are vital for safety.
