Hi what oil is best for my civic type r ep3 its on about 85 k some people listing 5w30 honda said 0w30 and sone say 5w40 so iam a bit confused on what to use . Thanks

To be honest you could use all of them. But 5w40 is the most popular as it's slightly thicker and to cope with high oil temps when driving hard.

Yeah I was told by Honda 5w-30 and people say 5w-40 as it doesn't burn as much as the 5-30

What did you go for in the end type r bamf?

I stuck with 0w30. I had this dilemma aswel.

It's not oil specifically for turbo diesels. It probably meets certain requirements for diesel engines.

I use 5w40 millers nanodrive in mine as was recommended it by my tuner. Another oil that a lot of type r owners use is 5w40 Fuchs pro s. I used this before the nanodrive was available. Both very good quality oils

I am also a nanodrive fan, have used it on my last 4 cars inc this civic. good oil and was recommended when tuning my TFSI over 300+hp.
