As far as i am aware they are road legal. but be prepared to still get pulled as some of them look really bright and the boyz in blue may just tug you just in case....... if you know whatni mean......

thie above is only what i have heard though.... I am after some and waiting for more names to be added to the group buy which has been set up by obizi

What about MOT testing? Pass/Fail ??
I've read somewhere that Xenon headlamps are not legal unless they have a self-levelling system. If you've ever turned the headlights on with a factory kit fitted you will see the lamps rise up and settle at the correct height for any given weight in the car.

So I believe they are not legal.

Hi, I have recieved my 8ks today and I am having probs.
The pics would be a great help if they worked as the how to guide is a bit confusing without them.

I have also lost the foam surround to 1 of the bulbs. Do I need this or can I do it without it??

Thanks

Hi,

Thinking of getting some of these for my facelift Type R but the only thing stopping me is the complications of fitting and the things that can go wrong. Can anyone put the pictures back up for this how to please?

Also, is there much difference between the 35w HID and 55w HID and what do most people have?

Hi there, this is a great example. thanks very much matey. Only thing i didn't do is modifying the adapter. i jus bent one side of the pin inwards on either side and it holds the HID's strongly. But takin the bumper apart was definitely a ideal thing to do. otherwise it would be impossible to fit the HID's. But again, thanks for this guide as it was very helpful.

Ed do you have any pics of the bit you are on about. Or is it fairly easy to see what you mean.

Dont have a car yet (pick up at the weekend all being well) but already have hids to fit, will be my first mod.

Have also noticed that nobody has mentioned which wires to plug into  . Anyone able to add some pics showing this????

Am thinking of getting HID kit, narrowed it down to hids4u http://tinyurl.com/47653n or ebay, there are a couple of items form the ebay seller, one is a general H1 kit http://tinyurl.com/3okruo and the other says it's specifically for the CTR http://tinyurl.com/4pesaf.
The Civic one is £10 more... I've emailed them to ask them if there's any difference (got no reply yet) and can't get through to them on the phone. Should I go for one of these or stick to hids4u - if so has anyone got a link to the pics in the how-to?

Thanks.

I don't if it's a good news or everybody has already known..

HIDS4U provides the modified special H1 bulb holder for Facelift CTR now..

Check this out: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/store/product.p ... =49&page=1

20 quid is quite pricey for 2 plastic stuff tbh but the good thing is you can keep your OEM bulb holder in case you get rid of the HID.

Could someone advise me how much the OEM bulb holder from dealer? If it's like 15 quid ish than this HIDS4U modified one is worth to buy.

Pics when you get the holders with bulbs fitted.

Can you redo a fitting guide when you have them and fit them. With pics as well would be good as it seems the original one is missing pics :bigcry:

I'm a girl - I couldn't be bothered with trying to fit them myself, but it does look as though it should be much easier with the modded bulb holders - will ask the guys how easy they were to fit when I pick it up this afternoon....... :WOOT

i'm much more confident about doing this after people have said just have a stab at it and bodge the metal clips to hold it in, should be ok :)

fitting them to my corsa sri was a breeze, in that they were H7 bulbs AND bulb holders, funny that :P

cant wait to have hids again :)

just waiting for my facelift headlights to come, then gotta try wire them up first then slap the hids in, gonan be quite a missions getting all the headlight stuff sorted
