The guy that I got the type r off said it was a jdm centre console made for double dins I don't kno if this is true as I've just got a kenwood and it won't got all the way back you can see abit of the cage because the surround won't fit otherwise any help ?

Think the guy was talking utter bollox. The centre consoles are the same.
There is a fitting guide here somewhere. Use it to dismantle the centre console and fit properly.
