R26 v Ep3

Hi people,
Basically i've got an R26 now but was thinking about getting another ep3 (had one for 2years before the meg). But the one thing the megane is far superior to the civic is the handling and i was wondering if it is possible to get the civic to handle more like the meg without spending thousands? By that i mean the way it feels so stable cornering at higher speeds and how it seems to absorb the bumps so well on a B road. Also how it can put the power down coming out of slow bends i obviously know the lsd helps alot with that.
What parts do you think would be needed to get the civic like this if it's possible?
Hope this makes sense, it sort of does in my head.
Cheers Lee

Assuming your r26 does handle so much better than an ep3 why go back to a car you need to spend some $$$ on to make it handle as well as an r26... Then there's all the other bits your going want to do to it... Seems a bit pointless..
Coilovers, camber arms+bolts, Lsd, progress rear arb, roll centre adjusters, polybushes and an frsu help out the handling a lot...

The short answer is you can't get an EP3 to handle like an R26 no matter what you spend on it. Probably be cheaper to put a K20 in the Meg.

It was to free up abit of cash and the ep3's seem pretty cheap now, i was going to look for a modified one with a bit of work already done to it.
Thanks for the input

Thought about a DC5 but i wouldn't really be getting much change if i sold up and bought one.

Rubbish! I can only assume that you've never been out in an EP3 that's well setup.
Admittedly, I'm sure that comparing standard with standard the EP3 would get its pants pulled down.

You know what they say about assuming?

Well regardless of assuming, you haven't been out in a well setup EP3 as you'd know that you can get them handling better than an R26.

I personally found that having a fast road setup on my last EP3 made a huge different to how it handled out of the box. I purchased a set of Spoon Progressive Springs and Eibach camber arms and bolts and had the job done down at TGM Sport.

R26 does handle phenomenal right enough, something Renault seem to do well.

I have been out in a 'well setup EP3', though i haven't been out in an R26. It was still rock hard, damping was poor and it bounced and crashed over bumps so it i had less confidance than softer setup cars so didn't make terribly good progress and it wasn't very enjoyable as it felt like taking a kidney punch when the edge of the seat jabbed into my side.
I sold my EP3 after 2 years and i don't really miss it, things have move on quite a bit since 2001, remember the dreamcast and gameboy? Makes you realise how old these cars are now.

So you want to sell a R26, take a really old EP3, and then spend lots of money on it to make it handle like a R26... K

I came from a well set up handling ep3 (progress arbs, poly bushes and a frsu) to an r26 which I currently have. No matter what you do to the civic the chassis as such is still the same.
The pros the civic has is more reliable, cheaper parts and great gearbox shifting.

Who cares about handling. I'd rather shag the pope than own a French car.
