It sounds like you've got either a blown Turbo valve or your Vtecs has come loose.

Hi guys.

I have an ep3 type r. It's covered 96k and had a new clutch fitted October last year. I went on a long trip over the weekend and its developed a sort of grinding noise from below the air box. When the clutch pedal is depressed it goes away but in neutral or in gear I can hear the noise. It's also started jumping out of 3rd on downshifts but is fine on the way up.

Any ideas?
