Rubbish! I can only assume that you've never been out in an EP3 that's well setup.

Admittedly, I'm sure that comparing standard with standard the EP3 would get its pants pulled down.

i have access to both cars and both are modded well,i have a 247bhp ep3 and a mate has a 283bhp R26,straight line there is nothing in it and cornering i prefer the civic.

day to day use the Megane is a much easier car to live with,on track id take my civic any day of the week, having done Donington Park at the 2012 French carshow in the civic i had no issues passing Meganes all day long.

i say this from personal experiences of driving both the cars and not cos i own one and have never touched the other, both are excellent cars and it comes down to personal preference which you would prefer but for me the EP3 would be my choice all round as i feel my EP3 at least is the better car on track and more enjoyable to drive on the road

Test drove an R26 and it was very twitchy when you put the power down coming out of the corners and on bends i thought,i prefer my Type R all day for stability and control in those areas and its very predictable, albeit i bought my CTR with uprated sus and a FRSU.

LSD takes while to get used to it. enter corner too fast and it will kick in and pull you right in to the curb if un aware. You can literally go round a roundabout and plant the throttle mid corner.

Yep,turn in and boot it and itll pull you round, like most good lsd's.
At the end of the day this is a civic forum so most will sway towards the civic.

Just so you know' my opinion was completely unbiased and was an honest opinion of my experiences with both cars.i see the point about needing to get used to the LSD but again i just thought it was a harsh experience and unpredictable which isnt a good thing imo.

Ever driven a civic with an lsd? It's no different if not the civic harsher.

To be fair though a UK spec CTR doesn't come equipped with an LSD so can't really bring that into this equasion.

why not? I've driven a jdm ep3 which has an lsd (standard) and that felt exactly the same as a uk ep3 that had a jdm lsd put in it.

So your cars probably making what about 185lb ft torque and the R26(presume its stg2)will be over 300lb ft torque!

his megane is 283bhp and 320lbs,we have had many many tests against each other and side by side there is nothing in it at all,the meganes a lot easier/layed back to drive fast but i just prefer the civic, feels just as fast but more enjoyable to drive and sounds nicer

no doubt this is where i get told I'm talking rubbish blah blah blah, facts are the facts and both of us have owned the cars for nearly 2 years now and use each others cars as a visual guide to show what difference the mods we do make on the road.It took his ITG,FMIC,Ktec 3"system and remap to match my civic from the day he bought it.

The biggest issue I had with the Renalt F4RT motor, is it sounds like one and basicly revs like a diesel.

You have to change about 5k RPM to avoid over shooting the powerband

what the civic has that the megane doesnt is low ratios which multiply the engine torque more than the meganes box.
result being at the road ie where it counts the torque ends up far closer than the engine specs
