I think it was Harry Metcalfe in Evo mag that completly panned this car after driving it. It was funny as a 2 finger salute to the EU numptys but the batteries only last 18 miles when at full chat so it goes from a 770bhp nut-mobile to a heavy 500bhp average paced supercar quite quickly, not sure how long the batteries take to recharge but i imagine it would be quite frustrating.

Plus, if anyone can afford this car i doubt they'd be put off by £460 road tax each year.

going be epic. :bigthumb:
I'd be interested to find out the real world economy compared to these drive cycle figures. The ampera claimed 196mpg and 254mpg.....real word about 41mpg  It's great what you can claim on a 2.5 mile drive cycle

the figure is only possible if it was driven on battery power 24/7 (the ampera that is)

Exactly. That's basically what it does over the whole drive cycle, run on batteries alone, and hence achieves this obscene 'official' mpg value.

Funnily enough I only just read his column this morning. I only mentioned what I did here as a work colleague was doing some real world drive cycle comparison tests with the Ampera. I can't say what vehicle is being developed as part of this comparison but it's amazing what can be allowed in the drive cycle if the car in question is classed as an EV (inluding hybrids and range extenders). These 'sneaky tricks' go a long way to produce these inflated 'official figures'. IMO it's a bit wrong and totally misleading.
