Good afternoon all,
Just a quickie, I cleaned my CTR yesterday and noticed I have a few scratches by the doors where some inconsiderate person decided to hit my car :bad-words: and also some tar spots around the wheels, my questions are
1, what is the best way to try and hide these scratches? (I have used polish but it didn’t work – mine is a satin silver EP3)
2, what can I use to get rid of the tar? - except elbow grease lol

1) Depends how deep the scratch is. If you run your finger nail over it, can you feel the scratch? If you can, it's probably gone through the clear in which case you won't be able to polish it out.

2) AutoGlym Intensive Tar Remover is pretty good stuff and you can pick if up in Halfords without too much difficulty. If that doesn't work, you'll probably need to clay them to lift all the tar off. If you've got some clay, just use that first; the tar remover may not shift if so why waste the money; just go straight to step two.

1) As said, as a general rule of thumb, if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail then it can't be removed, however you may be able to reduce the visibility of the scratch by rounding the edges a bit. You may want to get someone with a paint depth gauge to do this for you in case you go too far!

2) Tar remover will dissolve the tar - Autosmart Tardis is really good for this.

if the marks wont polish out then get some poorboys white diamond, that will help hide the scratches a bit

clay bar will sort the tar out as well :thumbup:

If you don't want to splash out for a bit ammount of Tardis, ValetPRO Tar /& Glue remover is also highly rated....And is more ' user friendly ' :salut:
