bottom end knock

One of my mates has a knock in his bottom end, my question is can you get the k20 cranks reground?
Or is it fit for bin

Not really. They are nitride coated and grinding removes the coating and hardness so they wear pretty quickly after that. Better to just get a new crank or bottom end and tell mate to check his oil better in future ;)

Take it reapplying the coating is an uneconomical move compared to a new/ forged crank?

What's a decent source for good k20 cranks then? Google seems to show me nothing but crower strokers etc.

Only ask as I was mulling the practicalities of building up a forged block. But paying £700-1000 for a block I'm going junk most of seemed excessive.
